Safety
Safety glass, which will be either toughened or laminated, depending on where and how it is being used, protects from the risk of serious injury caused by accidental breakage or impact. When it breaks, it breaks safely.
Types of safety glass have different benefits:
- Toughened glass fractures into small relatively blunt fragments upon failure, preventing cutting and piercing injuries associated with large shards of annealed glass.
- Laminated glass contains a polymeric interlayer, designed to retain sections of glass in the event of fracture, and so prevent shards separating from the main body of the glass. Laminated glass also provides an enhanced level of protection where there is a change in level, and so a risk of falling, or where there is a potential for objects to fall from height onto occupied areas below.
The type and level of safety can vary from one project to the next. Saint-Gobain Glass always recommend seeking advice from one our Technical Specification Managers (TSM) before you proceed with a particular glass type.
Sustainability
Saint-Gobain Glass is leading the industry in the design and manufacture of sustainable building glass.
Saint-Gobain Glass products are manufactured using a minimum of 30% recycled content.

Outer sheet: 8 mm SECURIT tempered safety glass, coated
Cavity: 12 mm air filled with stainless steel warm edge spacer bar
Inner sheet: 14 mm STADIP laminated safety glass comprising: 8 mm SECURIT / 0.76 mm PVB-Interlayer / 6 mm SECURIT
Black stainless steel warm edge spacer bar is used as the standard cavity spacer bar providing improved thermal insulation when compared to conventional aluminium spacer bars.Benefits
Unobtrusive, flush appearance
LITE-WALL ISO contributes to the creation of all-glass assemblies and innovative projects. With LITE-WALL ISO, the glass is not set in frames like traditional constructions, but held in place by point-fixings which do not penetrate the outer pane of the IGU, thus creating innovative aesthetic all-glass facades.
Enhanced acoustic and thermal insulation
Since the bolts do not penetrate the outer pane of the IGU, this improves the thermal performance of the unit because there is no cold bridging via the bolt from one side to the other. The acoustic performance of the IGU is also improved and the unit is more weathertight.
Maximum transparency
All-glass structures can be created, ensuring interiors are generously provided with natural light. When refurbishing older buildings, the clarity of the glass allows the original structure to be exposed in its true form.

GLASS FOR BATH AND SHOWER SCREENS
Description
TIMELESS from Saint-Gobain is a unique range of glass products for shower screens, shower cubicles and bath screens providing guaranteed long-lasting transparency.
High degree of transparency and a neutral appearance
SGG TIMELESS consists of a very clear glass, SGG PLANICLEAR, to which a virtually invisible coating is applied. SGG TIMELESS is therefore very transparent and does not alter colour perception, irrespective of the thickness of the glass.
An anti-corrosion effect for a lasting transparency
Day in, day out, the glass is protected against corrosion, so that it does not become whitish and maintains its attractive appearance
Low-maintenance glass
Water slips over the surface of the glass, which limits limescale deposits and marks. Any residual marks clean off more easily than on non-treated glass
High-durability treatment
SGG TIMELESS is obtained by magnetron deposition of a coating of metal oxides. This treatment lasts over time without losing its effectiveness, and can withstand all types of industrial processing
Applications
SGG TIMELESS is designed for applications in showers and can be used in:- Shower screens
- Shower cubicles/ shower enclosures
- Bath screens
Anti-corrosion properties of the TIMELESS range ensure the glass does not whiten over time and it’s also easier to clean than non-treated glass as water slips over the surface limiting limescale deposits.
Manufactured with high-durability treatment, TIMELESS maintains its attractive appearance and is available in a range of different thicknesses.
