FEATURED GLASS: COOL-LITE XTREME 70/33 II
Kirkstall Forge is a new development which has seen the complete overhaul of a former industrial site on the outskirts of Leeds. Over time, the aim is to transform the location into a thriving mixed-use community including offices, homes, shops and restaurants in a picturesque riverside setting.
The first part of the redevelopment was Number One Kirkstall Forge, which provides 110,000 q ft of Grade ‘A’ office space.
The project was voted best in the ‘Commercial’ category at the RICS Yorkshire and Humber Awards 2018.
The glass façade features COOL-LITE XTREME 70/33 II. With a high light transmission of 70%, this glass maximises daylight and indoor comfort, meaning the office space inside will be bright and pleasant for staff. Its low solar factor and excellent U-value mean that this glass is also energy efficient, as this reduces the need for air conditioning and heating, thus reducing the space’s overall carbon footprint.
