FEATURED GLASS: COOL-LITE SKN 176 II, COOL-LITE SKN 165 II, COOL-LITE SKN 154 II
This project saw the combination of a new leisure centre, civic facilities, a business centre and car parking into one inclusive redevelopment.
It brings together a range of council functions in a dedicated civic hub alongside a state of the art leisure centre with three swimming pools and a virtual surfing simulator. The new business centre also provides space to accommodate and support the region’s youngest businesses.
The design process engaged multiple key members throughout, including the public, stakeholders and all levels of the Council in order to ensure that the design met the needs of all occupiers and operators and that the project has progressed in an ordered and structured manner.
The glass façade uses COOL-LITE SKN 176 II, COOL-LITE SKN 165 II and COOL-LITE SKN 154 II, which all allow daylight to be maximised, whilst reducing overheating and at the same time noticeably reducing excessive heat loss during colder months. These glass products have a high degree of neutrality, meaning the space inside is light and comfortable for all users.
